News from Huntsville Alabama

Until one of my kids moved there last month, I had never heard of Huntsville, Al. Since then I have discovered a lot of interesting news makers live there. First, I heard about this creative kid:
An 11-year-old boy faked his kidnapping Friday to avoid bringing home his bad report card, Huntsville police said.

Then yesterday, this philanthropist made the headlines:
A Huntsville woman who owns her own defense contracting business on Friday won an EBay auction to have dinner with former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, the Republican nominee for vice president in 2008. Cathy Maples bid $63,000 to be donated to Ride 2 Recovery, a program that supports wounded veterans.

I have since been searching in vain for some interesting news from San Angelo or even Lubbock. Unless you are interested in the upcoming quail season, or a 83 year old man retiring from running his grocery store in Christoval, you are out of luck for us.
In Lubbock, folks are very sad since Texas Tech lost the football game last night to UT. That's about it for them. They have no quail, I guess.
