Even more family stuff

Daughter #2 came to bring 2 of my grandchildren to stay for a few days while she and her husband had a weekend in Santa Fe. You can read about their trip on her blog: http://camezisthoughts.blogspot.com/

They stayed to help daughter #3 paint her new house and start some moving. Their dad took a break and took the "big boys" to the skate park. Papa brought theses photos back. He was very impressed with their skills.
Daughter #3's new house. She may have got a little paint on her face as well as the rest of her body while painting the ceilings. It was 108 here while the grandchildren were here. That calls for a wading pool. Let's splash the photographer!

More about cousins, aunts, uncles and other assorted relatives

It has been a busy few weeks with all our family visiting. Here we are with our daughter #1, her family and their cousins from their Dad's family.
Jenny and Mike celebrated their 23rd anniversary June 7. They have lived far from Texas for a long time and it is always a big treat when they visit. We missed their oldest son, who couldn't come because of work and college. There is a big difference in age, but the cousins enjoyed each other and the older kids were very kind to play with the little ones.
Our Geek Guys played computer games for hours together.
Aunt Jenny and the youngest cousin, who already has a reputation as "the good baby".

Jenny had never been to Lubbock since her sister moved there, so we took a little road trip to visit Red Raider territory and some more cousins.

We went to the Texas Tech Science Museum.
I grabbed a drive by shot of Texas Tech on the way to eat some great Chinese food at The Great Wall.
We had a picnic at a beautiful rest stop near Lubbock called Silver Springs. It is beautifully landscaped and has a creek and lots of hills, cliffs and rocks to explore.

We stopped at the Mt. Blanco Fossil Museum at Crosbyton. It was a cool afternoon for a hike at Caprock Canyon State Park.
We had granddaughters night at the Embassy Suites in Lubbock. The girls went swimming, watched Bolt (again) on TV, had breakfast on the patio, used every piece of equipment in the exercise room and had a great time together. They also worked on the jewelry making kit that Aunt Wendy sent for Z's 6th birthday.

No visit to Lubbock is complete without a walk to the nearby park. We are all into Candyland these days.
Caprock Canyons is near Quitiquay, Texas. This is a common street scene from in a Texas farming town. My husband remembered that his Dad was born in the town in 1909.
