My favorite photos from Christmas

We also played Old Maid. It should be rated PG13. The kids were scared of the old maid. All is calm.
Some one bought 5 guitars this year.

The microwave was a big hit.

This is what his mother told me to get him. She was right...big hit.

Right before he fell off.

Before you open your gifts,

Everyone has to stand in front of the tree and smile.
We had a wonderful Christmas with 7 of our grandchildren here and we are very grateful they had a safe trip home in the aftermath of the Christmas blizzard!

Christmas Lights on the Concho River

It was a beautiful night for walking through the Christmas lights! The boys had a great time trying to upset little sister with stories about Nutria leaving the river and doing some strange things.

Some things that made me happy this week

A friend gave me a scrapbook bird house for my birthday. The cutest kids in San Angelo came to my house to sing carols.
Children enjoying making music and daughter #3 playing "O Holy Night" at the piano recital. (which I video recorded but couldn't get it on here)

Walking around San Saba, Texas on Thanksgiving morning with my camera and finding a church with Thanksgiving hymns playing from their bell tower. That wasn't this week, but it was really special and I'm still happy about it.

Cleburne State Park

After leaving Dallas last Tuesday, we drove to Cleburne and visited their beautiful state park on Wednesday. It was beginning to fill up with campers for the holiday weekend but no one was out hiking yet so we had a very nice secluded hike around Cedar Lake.

Scenic Overlook
I took this one!
The trail

He has a lot of equipment, but he doesn't have a blog, so guess who's photos you get to see most of the time!

OK, here's one of his...the end of the trail. We do have to turn around and go back, though. See my camera...my hood is missing. I lost it on this trip. I also lost my camera case. Then, yesterday when I went out to get some snow pictures, I discovered I have lost my polorizer!

Do ya'll want to see pictures from the seminar in Dallas?

Snow in San Angelo

December 4, 2009...The Standard Times reported that this was the earliest date snow has ever fallen in San Angelo since we have been keeping records of this sort of things. This is my street.
I hope daughter #3 posts some of her photos of her boys making their first snowman...they were so excited!

More about Turkeys

Some of Basil's pictures at the lake last week were too good not to show you. Here's a little woodpecker. Need some mistletoe?
And the family of turkeys having a little disagreement.

Some Turkeys Who Survived Thanksgiving

We had chicken subs at Colorado Bend State Park.
And these guys are walking boldly around Lake Nasthworthy:

And some more looks at the lake from Saturday:
